  • What is Magneto-Therapy ?

Magnetotherapy is a non-invasive treatment technique that uses magnetic fields to improve the patient’s health and well-being by helping to stimulate healing and reducing pain. The technique has long been used in alternative medicine, with great results.

  • How Does Magneto-therapy work ?

The application of electromagnetic fields has been shown to affect cell permeability and improve oxygen delivery to the cells, which can lead to better absorption of nutrients, improved circulation and clearance of waste products.

The most common theory suggests that the magnetic field attracts the iron in the hemoglobin ( is the protein contained in red blood cells that is responsible for delivery of oxygen to the tissues) which increases the blood flow circulation. This increase in circulation increases the amount of oxygen available to the body, boosts the immune system and decreases toxins.

  • What conditions can be treated with Magneto-Therapy ?

Magnetotherapy can be helpful in treating a variety of conditions, including:

The positive effect of magnetotherapy on soft tissues and bone tissue is used in the pain relief therapy and acceleration of healing process after orthopedic treatment procedures and surgeries. This means that low-frequency magnetic field therapy is an effective and non-invasive method of patient rehabilitation.

Magnetic field therapy has shown great results against:

  1. Arthritis

  2. Bone injuries and fractures

  3. Chronic pain

  4. Fibromyalgia

  5. Sports Injuries

  6. Chronic pain

  7. Depression and anxiety

  8. Wound healing

It is important to note that magnetic therapy is not a cure for these conditions, but it can be an effective tool for reducing symptoms and improving patients’ quality of life. It is always recommended that the patient consult with a doctor before starting any alternative treatment.

  • How is Magneto-Therapy performed?

Magnetotherapy can be performed in several ways, depending on the type of injury or ailment being treated. The devices used for magnetotherapy can range in size and shape, from small portable devices to large tabletop devices including pads, coils, belts and blankets.

The choice of device will depend on the specific area of the body being treated and the depth of tissues you want to reach.

During the magnetotherapy session, the patient sits or lies on a comfortable surface and the device is placed on the affected area. The physical therapist adjusts the strength of the magnetic field to ensure that it is safe and effective for the patient. The duration of the session can vary depending on the ailment, but usually lasts between 20 to 40  minutes, depending on the condition and severity of the injury.
